I don't do it, but ttm seems to be the best procedure for protozoan prevention. I'm old school in my understanding of ich and other protozoan diseases, if it's not present, then medication is useless. I've seen prophylactic treatment for protozoan diseases fail time and time again, using cp or copper. Something you have to realize, if the disease wasn't present to begin with, you'll never know if a prophylactic treatment works or not. Cp(chloroquine phosphate) is not the new wonder drug, most advanced hobbyist deemed this drug unreliable as far back as the 90s. Personally I only treat ich when ich is present.
