I had read a few threads and wanted to place an order to test out various micron sizes. I have read that Red Sea was using 200 micron but they have confirmed they have no micron rating on the fleece. Precision things visually it’s closer to 20 micron which based on my sump cleanliness and having used 50 micron from Klir, I wouldn’t agree with.
I am running mine on a freshwater system but decided to compare the standard from Red Sea to the 10 micron from Precision. The Red Sea rolls have an average life in my system of 51 days. The 10 micron from Precision lasted 33 days but I however lost a number of days due to a pump issue where the change out kicked up so much that I was using a days worth of fleece every hour for almost 12 hours getting the junk out of the water column. Based on average usage per day, actual life would have been closer to 47 days. The extra length bridges the gap between the life spans but the cost is still less. Currently trying out the 20 micron, then 30, then 50. Below you can see used fleece for the two fleeces. Hope the info helps anyone else considering. I will try and post an update in about 50 days give or take with the 20m roll.
