Would you mind sharing the pieces ordered from 80/20 to build the vertical and horizontal components of the light mount? In the current pic, I used some 1"X .25" aluminum bar stock from the hardware store, painted it black, and drilled holes in it to match the holes in the light and then one hole in the center of the bar where I used a T-nut to attach to horizontal section of the mount. I can send you close-up pics if you need, just PM me.
I have not hidden the wires yet as I'm actually going to hang the light on wires and lower it to reduce the spillover lighting in the room. Happy wife happy life. Once the light is lowered, I'll use black zip ties to secure the wires along the back of the verticle of the light mount.
No mechanical filtration. I've run it in the past and just don't see the benefit. In fact I think it was detrimental to pod production as pods get caught up in it. I've not seen my Mandarin eat anything I feed the tank. he's just eating pods and my fuge is filled with them. The refugium is where it all gets broken down and feeds the Caulerpa as wellGreat tank setup! Love the huge fuge. What are you running for mechanical filtration?
