For the people that are using redsea 4 part how do u like it? Im currently using all for reef, but its getting annoying, i cant keep alk stable, and iv been increasing it like crazy. Im at 62ml. And cant keep my alk stable, i increased it from 55ml to 62. My tank is 150G thinking of switching to redsea 4 part. Whats your opinion on it

I began using this program at the beginning of 2025. First 2 months it was great, kept Alkalinity around 9.5. When the first 4 bottles ran out, I replaced with a fresh batch of new bottles. After a week I noticed my alk had dropped to 7. I discovered the dosing tube had hard crystals in it, blocking the flow. I poured out the contents of the "part 2 / alk" bottle to discover a brick at the bottom of it, basically undissolved minerals of whatever they use in this. I saw no instructions about making sure to shake these bottles prior to using. I was under the impression everything was plug-and-play right of the box. So just a head's up if you decide to use it.

There's no reason to think any method will stabilize alk more than AFR. You might elect something else for cost or pH or other reasons, but stability of alk is not among them. :)

You just have to increase your dose until you find that sweet spot. After that your alk should stabilize at your new dose. Your not at a crazy dose. In general the more alk consuming corals in your tank the higher the dose to keep up. The Red Sea system is pretty expensive and there’s no evidence that it’s better than any other additive systems
