I have a 625 and it’s nearing it’s 1 year anniversary. I have often contemplated removing the wall between the Refugium section and the skimmer section. I don’t run a fuge. But the section holds all my bio material such as siporax and seachem matrix. The skimmer is still in it’s area with some rock rubble.

My LFS has a nice 750 and last time I looked it had it’s wall removed.

I guess an advantage to leaving it in place is to create flow and it’s a water break.

I keep mine in place to keep the water level in the sock/media baskets as high as possible in order to keep them quiet.

I run my skimmer section at the lowest water level and without the divider, there is much more noise in the socks/baskets.

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
