HI Reefers & Happy New Year.

I currently have a 150 GL Aqueon which is behind a wall, I wanted to down size a bit and found a Redsea Reefer XL 425 that looks like they put water and sand and never used no coraline nor scratches, looks like they attempted to reef and gave up. What I like is that my current 150 is 18" width and this one is 23"

I paid 500.00 just for the Aquarium and Stand no equipment I will move all my current equipment to it. Was it a good purchase ?

Thanks,

Considering that tank is $3099 new, I'd say you got a great deal, assuming it is as you described and at least comes with the plumbing.
Did it come with the ATO reservoir too?

No is just the Tank and the stand, and not a scratch on and of those two ... I have all my stuff ffom my 150, I just have to make another sump that fits inside the cabinet which should not be an issues.... Current sump for 150 is a 55 Aqueon which I made glass baffles for and been running great for 8 years or so.

Check the serial number with red sea and find the original purchase date and if any warranty claims made.

Check all seams if you haven't yet. A LFS has a used one that is still up and running and they're asking for $1500 so if everything checks out with it then that's a great score.

Wow, I filled it up with water last night and put a tape on a corner to see if it lost any water and is still as I left it, all seems look like new, seems that they did not have it running for long no Coraline Algae on glass or even signs of it...

Now the challenge is doing the plumbing, I do not have any pipes, any Idea what size pvc to get so I can mimic the original, Also I'm having a friend create a sump from 1/4" glass for me... I'm taking the whole bottom area, I will put a partition withing the sump for ATO.

If anyone has any idea or recommends something please advise, I think 15" High is sufficiant to allow me to work with my Roller Mat.

Contact red sea, they can probably sell you the complete down pipe kit.

You can get the plumbing on saltwateraquarium as well. I've ordered some replacements for mine.

I bought the conversion threads to slip to plumb with 1" schedule 40
