Reefer XL 525 seam failure

My Red Sea Reefer XL 525 recently split at the seam and drained. I lost my livestock and ended up with water damage to my wood floors. The tank was about 4 years old and running normally, so this really caught me off guard.
I reached out to Red Sea and, since it’s out of warranty they only offered a small partial credit toward a new system. But after seeing so much of these seam failures accruing in not even sure I want to go red sea again.

I also still have another Red Sea tank running, which honestly has me a bit worried now.

Has anyone else had a seam failure like this? Curious how it was handled. What should I do with my other red sea?

That doesn't look like the typical seam failure. It almost looks like it was failing from the outside in. I would inspect your other tank thoroughly.

This is the "other" Red Sea failure. Towards the top of a side seam instead of the center of the bottom seam

This is indeed more common than Red Sea and their fans want to admit. Searching the forums here will return hundreds of failures with their tanks. They will offer you a small "discount" on a new system but they end up making MORE money going this route. They cut out the middle man and get to keep the full profit in this case. They are not doing you, your home, or wallet any favors.

Take a bright light and inspect every inch of silicone on your other Red Sea as well. Watch it carefully.

I hate to sound rude but, "you're not sure if you want to go red sea again?!" Please search the forums here regarding this issue. Then, ask yourself if you should get another Red Sea.

This is why people need to exhaustively research aquariums before spending thousands of dollars. I dont understand why people still buy these tanks, and even worse, why BRS and Salterwater keep selling them. Zero ****** accountability.

Yea I’ve seen them all and will not be going Red Sea again and their small credit was nowhere near worth convincing me otherwise.

Terrible company. I will never buy another red sea product again. I had a seam problem with my 750xxl and their response/"customer service" was insulting. Their skimmer was crap too. Look elsewhere and buy from a company that cares about their customers.
