I was noticing my alk dropping a little bit, and i was wondering why,. Noticed a build up on the tube, not dosing correctly the amount, this is genuinely beyond annoying. How doni solve this always a build i gotta clean up, and i genuinely not sure why, it doesnt last 2 days its affecting my dosing. And now makes me wonder if theres build up inside the tube.

It’s common. Dilute the mixture with RODI, doubling the volume and then dose twice as much. The tube shouldn’t get the build up with the more diluted mixture.

What do you mean more diluted mixture? Its afr powder i mix

I have my AFR dosing line set where my top off water dosing line drips onto the AFR line and rinses it off.

Right, but don't you mix the powder with RODI and then dose that liquid? He saying mix the powder with twice as much water or half the powder with the same amount of water, then double the amount of solution you dose.

This is normal when dosing AFR.

Just put the dosing tube under your ATO topoff tube so it gets rinsed clean.

I dose in the middle chamber where the skimmer is. Is that a bad idea? My ato is in the return.

The reservoir…yes you mix with rodi water, but the suggestion was to water it down more, which is what i was referring to.

I had the same issue with the red sea lines getting clogged. I tried several things like having the end of the line submerged and running a T for ATO to help clear the line. while they helped, the red sea tubing still got clogged. I replaced them with black vinyl tubing and haven't had any issues for about 6 months now. note that I still have the end of the tubing submerged.

It's better for you to dose in the return chamber so that the AFR tube is rinsed by RODI.

I have just gotten used to squeezing the end of the tubing everytime I go near the tank, it’s a habit now, guess not ideal but works.
