Good afternoon my fellow refers,
I want to talk to you guys about my red tooth triggerfish. For those of you who keep predator tanks this is a great fish to have, in my humble opinion.
Between that cool blue-purple body, green and blue markings and those teeth!!! Love the teeth! This fish a must have.
I specifically like their unique swimming style. They use their dorsal and anal fins to propel themselves. They are also able to lock their dorsal spine as a defense mechanism. They have a retractable dorsal spine that can be locked into an erect position. This makes it difficult for predators to swallow them.
As you can see in the video, they are eating very well. I recorded the entire 2 minute feeding. There are several of them so I make sure to give them enough food to keep them full and happy to avoid conflict. This particular group has been together and here with me for 3 weeks. They are thriving and ready for their forever aquariums.
