True, that is how the population survives, if the female dies, the dominant male becomes the female and so on. Never 2 females, as they cannot change back, and will fight to the death.

Yep exactly... There usually are several juveniles. The largest becomes female, the next largest becomes male. Female dies and the male will become female and the next largest juvenile becomes male.
