Reef Breeder Meridian 63

Hello All,

I’m curious what I should list a reef breeder meridian 63 for? Unit is just over a year old and everything works perfect on it. I’m thinking $1400-1300, would that be a fair price? I’m looking to move to 2x straton x lights for some future plans I have.

I'm thinking about making the switch to the ATI Straton X.

Don't get me wrong, the Meridian is a fantastic light—if you don't mind adding LED bars to your setup, it does a great job. Using just the fixture standalone, though, I get some shadow spots along the front and back glass of my 72" x 24" x 24" tank.

While the shadows are part of it, I'm really aiming for a cleaner, more minimalist look without needing supplemental bars. The bigger driver here, honest answer, is that I'm planning a move to a 48" x 48" x 24" or 36x36x24 cube soon, and the Meridian is just going to be too long for that footprint. The Straton should be a much better fit for the new build while giving me the sleek, edge-to-edge coverage I'm after.

Cool thanks I’m thinking of upgrading but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’m running a photon 48 on a waterbox 230 it is shorter but it does good and I just put lower light corals in end

Thats wild. I have the same light and footprint and don't notice shadowing, and I did not get the supplemental light bars.

Moot as you're switch to a tank that doesn't work with the M63.

That said, it is a very high end light, and you should get more than what I consider standard used pricing, which starts at 50% of new, and I almost never even get that. I'd probably try for $1300, but I'd probably take the first $1100 offer I got, if I even got that.

I have the 220.6 version of this tank. my end to end coverage is great with my meridian. being that you aren't heavy sps, you could keep the light higher and get great coverage.
