I’ve been running a 24” V2 over my 36” long, and I seem to get great coverage. I recently added a couple of ati bulbs to a retro fit above my V2, and I noticed a great response in my Coral within the first week.
I think the T5 combo was my best move. But it sure works well as a stand alone.
How are your t5 attached? Is this in a mounted in a canopy?

I just used cable ties, and zipped them to the top of the arm! but it works.

So do you run them at ~16" just to diffuse the light more? Do you run the lumen bars just to get more blues?
Yes I run them high to get better coverage, I also run the lumenbars for more coverage. I personally don't think spectrum matters a whole heck of a lot compared to other things like coverage, water flow perameters etc. I have grown acros with fuge lights before.

I’m very happy with my photon V2 but I do plan on adding supplemental lumenbars from reefbreeders or t5s on either side of my fixture

I have had mine for about 1.5 years. Great light. I just bought a ATI though. Partly because I like new equipment and tinkering and partly because I screwed up and bought the 24” V2 for my 36” tank and should have gotten the 36” V2.

Here is my WD with 5 months of growth under the V2:

Cool! I'm sure you'll love it. I have one over my 65gallon, and I have Hydras on my 120. I am seriously considering swapping out the Hydras for another one of these bad boys.

well i am currently on verge of tank reboot. 90#'s of reefsver rock cycling, received rb v2 50", kessil h380 should arrive for fuge, meanwhile custom triton sump from crystal reef aquatics should be here in two weeks the sump is the hold up. all going in a red sea reefer 450 i just picked up.

my old 75 has been with me for 18yrs. full of old mistakes and learning experiences. wanted to start fresh. fish will come over, skimmer and equipment will be sterilized and brought over.

thinking pair of WAV's and a DOS. i LOVE my apex.

That would be amazing if you could. I have a tank arriving tomorrow and I am planning on purchasing a Photon. Your setup looks awesome!

Thanks!
So the top brackets could be placed horizontally instead of vertically but i had pipes in the way so vertical it is!
Channels in the T slot make it easy to hide wires. Stand by on the list

Comes out to about $150 but if I remember correctly I had extra parts. I don’t remember how many though so that will be up to you to figure out. It’s not cheap but looks so much better. I am raise and lower my lights by loosening some Allen bolts on the back. The lights can slide freely in every direction. I’m sure you could secure them better but are pretty stable. The little tabs screw into the square head bolts that come slid into the top of the light where normally the hanging fixture would screw in
