So I've decided to accent my Noopsyche light with a Reef Brite. I have a 20 gallon cube so I don't need to go crazy but it's between these two models.

Reef Brite 8" UVA blue

Or

Reef Brite 8" Lumi Light actinic

Any thoughts?

I've heard the Reef Brites are kick butt for supplemental lighting and make the corals glow and grow like crazy. Just not sure which fixture would do me best.

It’s not the exact one you’re looking at but I have a lumi lite pro, it’s 50/50 blue and white and I’m very happy with it. I’ve had it for around 2 years as the only light over a 29g.
Edit: Sorry, my response is not at all what you’re asking about but I do like this brand of light!

Hey that's awesome man, first off I really appreciate you saying that, hate when you give a choice and people push something completely different on you lol I appreciate you giving your experience. I believe the one you have is very similar to the Lumi Light I'm looking at. I know there's a bunch of people out there that are swearing by the UVAs because it's like 395nm light spectrum and it's something corals respond well to and just light them up! Not sure if the Lumi would do that or I need to get the UVA fixture. Regardless I'm glad to know you're happy with yours!! Thanks for sharing brother!

Can you provide a link to the lights your looking at? I didn’t see any 8” ones...is the 395nm closer to a purple than blue? I would love to supplement with a purple strip to bring out the reds and purples in my tank.

Btw, I’m a girl. Lolol ;Hilarious
Lol omg I'm sorry!! I shouldn't assume!

This is the Reef Brite Lumi Actinic

And this is the UVA The UVA is purple and I guess it makes your corals pop like no other!
https://premiumaquatics.com/products/reefbrite-8-uva-led-strip-light.html

Unfortunately Premium Aquatics is sold out of both of them and the UVA 8" is discontinued but I'm sure there's still a few left floating around on the old interweb.

I think the UVA is the one we both are looking for to get that added pop .
They also make a UVA Mini which is 3". It has 2 3watt bulbs.

Hey! Did you buy the UVA light? How did
It go?

I want to buy some reef brites mini mag UVA but I can’t find any info on them. Do corals benefit from this type of light or is it just to make them pop more? why they stopped making them?

Just added a 24 strip of the atinic/blue because I could not find the uv/a. Mounted the light through the leg mounts onto the prime mounts and works perfectly. Getting insane color now it’s definitely obvious. Best 160 I have spent in this hobby

Nice tank! Thanks for sharing it with me. I already bought the same light as you. They’re awesome. But I wanted to supplement with a few mini mag UVA. But I wonder if it really makes a difference.

I don’t know how much of a difference it would make I have never seen them in real life. I wonder why they stopped making them? I looked for a while online for them but had to go with the blue. If you find them let me know I would like another 24 inch

The Lumni should be sufficient. It offers good POP.

Reefer 250, the hanging brackets fit so well that I would have to slide one of the lights over 3 inches for the xho to fall off into the tank. Very safe
