SCIENTIFIC NAME –Chaetodon sedentarius

COMMON NAME – Reef Butterflyfish

SIZE – 5.9" (15 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 55 US Gal. (208 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING – The Reef Butterflyfish consumes polychaete worms, crustaceans, and hydroids. In captivity, offer a varied diet of marine fare. Should be fed a minimum of 2 times per day if house in a reef tank, or 3 times per day in a fish only system.

REEF COMPATIBILITY – With caution if kept well fed.

CAPTIVE CARE – The Reef Butterflyfish should be housed with peaceful tank mates and temperatures in the range of 68-82 F (20-28 C). This species can be kept in groups if all specimens are introduced at the same time. The black spot on the dorsal fin of juveniles fades with age.
