Reef Chemistry Question of the Day #236

Let's do some additive math. :)

You have a calcium supplement that says 20 ml raises calcium by 30 ppm in 10 gallons.

How much is needed to boost calcium by 20 ppm in 120 gallons of aquarium water?

a. 40 mL
b. 80 mL
c. 120 mL
d. 160 mL

Good luck!

20 ml to get 30 ppm in 10G

240ml to get 30 ppm in 120G

ml? to get 20 ppm in 120G

=160ml

Asian math so I'm sorry if you don't understand LOL

20 ml raises Ca by 30 ppm/10 gallons
20 x (20/30) = ml to raise Ca by 20ppm/10 gallons = 13.34 ml.
So 13.34 ml raises CA by 20 PPM in 10 gallons

(120 gallons/10 gallons =12)*13.34= 160 ml. = D
