Reef controllers

So I'm starting to look at controllers but I don't know which would fit my needs best. I'm going to be adding a chiller to my tank soon and am going to start looking into dosing systems so a controller is looking like its going to be a necessity down the road. My lights have built in timers so I don't need those controlled and email updates is not a big deal for me.
What different probes do they have for them? I've seen salinity and ph probes. is there something for calcium and alk that can be setup to automate dosing pumps? I've been thinking either a Neptune or an Alex junior or Apex lite but I'm looking for opinions and personal experience and something fairly easy to setup but also cost effective.
