To me if you are really good at cycling you are doing something wrong unless you own a store.

You should cycle it once, and go on about your life as the tank should run forever.
I don't remember cycling my tank more than once, and that was in 1971. It's still cycled as far as I know.

I may have started a few tanks for other people and a few stores but why are people continually cycling tanks?
Love it !!!! Yes it’s still cycled LOL LOL

Reefgroupie that doesn’t offend, it just short changes thinking heh

if we add fish to a ready system that arent disease prepped they die of velvet shortly after, or infect the system for new fish upcoming, per today’s fish disease forum activity

Gogi can you get either Fritz biospira or Dr Tims bacteria

those are well tested quick cycle brands which kind can you get

Even though thousands of dry start tanks carry fish on day one using Dr Tims tracked safely on seneye and corals can be carried too, it’s hard to fight tank uglies while also stocking new corals that’s the risk

the risk isnt ammonia control it’s fish disease and dinos hassle

for proofing here’s a dry start instant reef on day one using bio spira

that roadmaps what you can expect

I’ll be doing a hard skip cycle. Fritz and Prodibio day 1. Within that week 5-10 boxes of coral. Within 4-5 days of coral will have 20-40 fish inside.
Coral can use ammonia as a nitrogen source. If packed enough the bioload should be fine.

1. 2 pieces of live rock
2. Bottle bacteria
3. Organic carbon

I just miss readily available real live rock lol.

Going to the lfs and they have a a few totes of water with rocks is not the same as rock that was in the ocean. Wish more vendors sold Maricultured manufacturered rock. I think the number of cycle posts have grown exponentially over the last years as fuji rock has been off the market. And people are having to rely on magic life In a bottle to replicate the ocean because ordering 20 lbs of live rock now costs you $30 a pound after shipping. I may be exaggerating slightly.
Florida rock is real and is easier and cheaper to obtain. There are multiple vendors and the quality is astounding because it is U.S. based (assuming you are in the U.S.) .
