I am currently using IO Reef Crystals and alkalinity is 11.2-11.4. Both tank and fresh batch. I am due to buy more salt and want to know if I should switch salts or stick with the same salt. Tank has nothing in it that would lower alkalinity as far as I know.

Well, to paraphrase Smokey the bear, only you can decide what your alkalinity should be. 11 dKH is not a problem. Many people keep theirs lower, and yours will lower over time if you do not supplement to maintain it.

I use the same salt and with my 3-part balling dosing, kalkwasser and daily AWCs my alkalinity is right around 8 +/-0.25 and it gets tested 3-4 times a day by my Hydros.

Ironically I thought of switching to normal IO salt since it's cheaper but even using the Reef Crystals with the higher alkalinity/calcium/magnesium I still might stick with it as it's almost like another dosing regiment with the AWCs.
