Used for 3 months, purchased new in December 2015, but remained in the box until Jan 16, put online October 2016. You can see it in my build thread also.

It is keeping my nutrients at dead 0. I like to have my water a little dirtier than that. Awesome piece of equipment.

Will come with half of a container of NOPO pellets also! (About 24oz)

It is both. It comes with a strainer fitting for in sump use and a hose fitting for external. It is nice because you do not need an additional feed pump.

There are some good youtube videos on it I think if you want to see it in action also.
