I seem to have coral reactions that are opposite that of others when using reef energy. My SPS retract and some of my euphyllia lose their polyp extension. They aren’t just feeding, they stay retracted for a day or so. Anyone have similar experiences?

That's odd. My first thought is that your nutrients (N & P) are getting too high but I wouldn't think that would cause an instant reaction like you describe

Mine retracts but they seem happy, like I can tell they are feeding. Could there be something wrong with your reef energy? Do you keep it in the fridge?

I keep my reef energy in the fridge. Had it for 2 months now. I have tried broadcast and target feeding with reef roids. I wonder if my corals need to get used to it first.

My nutrients are lean, .03 po4 and 5 nitrate.

Also i usually make a target feeding mix for a couple days and I keep it in the fridge. Is target feeding with cold solution a bad idea?
