Hey Peeps,

There are a couple of fishies that I have been trying to purchase for awhile that seem to never be in stock despite the fact that many well known vendors advertise these fish on their websites.

Is there a particular time of the calendar year where imports are more likely to be available in terms of stock selection?

Cheers

What species are you looking for?

Seasonality in marine fishes is mostly about size. Tiny clown triggerfish are seasonal for example.

There is a *general* trend (in the US) to best availability being in the early spring and then again in the fall. The summer is slow due to people being involved in other activities. Thanksgiving through New Years can be slow due to shipping issues during the holidays. Weather can be a factor during the middle of winter (not for the imports themselves per-se, but for re-ships from LA to colder regions being problematic).
