Royal gramma is doing great. Only issue I have had with him was feeding. I couldn’t get him to eat the PE Mysis Pellets. After 6 days, I couldn’t wait any longer so I went to the LFS and picked up some Ocean nutrition Reef flakes and he has been eating those ever since. I realized the pellets were too big for the gramma to eat so I may switch back when he grows bigger.

Finally got more rocks for the scape. I’m pretty satisfied with how it came out. New arches, nooks, and most importantly, spots for corals. I have an extra piece of rock I’m going to chop up for islands. I plan to get two clownfish tomorrow. Ones going to be a regular ocellaris clownfish and the other will be a black Ocellaris. I’ll be getting a lot of corals in the next few weeks. I’ll start off with some softies and work my way up

Fish store didn’t have regular ocellaris clowns but they had black clowns, so I’m going to wait until next week to get a pair when they have both in stock

5 MONTH UPDATE:
CF90D620-47A7-4E4E-9928-68E173FA549C.jpeg

Nothing major happened in the last few months that haven’t been already mentioned in between updates. Only things is that I got a fish, plan to get two clowns this week, grayish color cyano is on my sandbed (I hate this sandbed. I forgot to rinse and it has been a world of problems on top of the ugly phase)and I have raise my salinity to around 1.0256 or so, and I’m really close to that 1.026 mark I should have been at.
Parameters:
Salinity: ^
Alkalinity: 7.8
Calcium: 380
Phosphate: 0.04
Nitrate: 0

Got two clownfish, a regular ocellaris clownfish (Soren), and a Darwin clownfish (Medusa). Acclimation was a little shaky for these guys but they managed to get through it. The darwin lost some of its colors and turned a little lighter when I put it in the tank but got it back to regular color after 5 minutes. Regular ocellaris did a lot of heavy breathing for the first hour but started to relax. My royal gramma (Tiger; forgot to mention his name I think), has been great with them. He just doesn’t like when they go super close to his sleeping spot/hiding spot. He has been swimming near them a lot and has never tried to bite them. They’re a little skittish and haven’t eaten yet but I expect they will become more social and eat soon.

I tested my Calcium and Alkalinity earlier today and I knew they have always been strange and they still are at the same spots
Alkalinity: 13 dKH
Calcium: 320 ppm
Very strange to see high alk low calcium. Typically the other way around.
just started seeing some coraline algae growth!

Little update now that I’m over here. Just did a water change. Finally got my salinity up to 1.026 from 1.024 originally (because I’m dumb and cheap). Clownfish are eating and Soren tried to bite me numerous times during the water change. All is good. Some snails keep falling but none have died yet. But I think somethings up because the water smelled different. I’ll be getting some coral probably this week

Bluntspined Brittle Star. Got an ID off of some people on this forum. They said that they hadn’t seen that variation before so it may be a rare species. I’ll never see him again though because he hides under rocks

Returning my clownfish because they bullied my royal gramma and always bit me or anything that entered the tank that was foreign. Probably get some more after I add all my fish

Got two new corals while I was at the fish store. FYI, I edited the photos only for the purpose of showing you how they look right now since iPhone cameras aren’t good with taking pictures under blue light.

Gatorade Zoanthid. Sold to me as a Charming Charlie Zoanthid but these are definitely Gatorade’s

I’ll probably get one more Zoa (rastas probably) and I’ll move on to LPS corals

Made a Zoa garden today
3ADDE4D5-DB70-48EC-87C4-ED7CA6C161A5.jpeg

Unfortunately, I was moving my Sunny Ds Zoanthids from the main rock work to be on the garden and the frag plug didnt come off and only the coral did and I may have damaged 2 of the 3 heads. Fortunately, one is looking fine and I think everything will be alright. I plan to get some rastas or another Zoa to put on this arch and I’ll let the garden grow!

all polyps of the Zoa are open! Lights are off but that is a very promising sign. Now I fear I may have put it too close to one of the others but not worrying too much about it
