New to the hobby, only wanting a simple tank and I’m slowly building. I have a simple blue and white led on my tank.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the prices of led lights that are just different colors for the spectrum that corals need but, when Leds are normally cheep when marketed for literally anything else?! I just find it crazy.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m looking for a light for a 20gal tank that won’t break my bank.

20 gallon High or long

Well actually there are plenty of cheap LED lights for tanks..
The more expensive usually have full automation..
Like a Hue vs a cheap generic led bulb.

$42 light bulb..and only about 9 Watts..

Any Chinese black box will give you manual dimming 100W or so of cheap reef lighting..
For under $100..
Or get some automation for a bit more..
NOTE: NOT recommending this, just giving you an example..

I was looking at this one. All the reviews look good. I’ll have to try it our then.
It is an extremely impressive light for the cost, I think you will happy with it. It is what I use on my QT /observation tank for frags.

Inappropriate reefer (Youtube) uses that on his 10 gallon budget tank and is even trying some clams under it. Granted a 10 may be a shallower than yours but it is a very impressive light given the price.

I use the orbit marine led light. Its alot of bang for a budget. Programable and customiseable. I spent about 120 for a 36" on sale. I have had the tank set up for 2.5 months and have had little problems. I did have to download the PDF from their site to blow up the font but setup was easy and you can also set up wave pumps and additional lights to it in the future when you want to upgrade.
