Setting up new reef tank. 54x30x24 - nominal 168 gal with a 74 gallon Synergy sump (240 total nominal volume) - Actual working volume is 140 gal in DT + 55 gal in sump = ~200 gal. Planning to attempt Triton method so want a nice external recirculating skimmer after the refugium. Will this skimmer be too large or can it be regulated down via DC pump?

Options: Medium to High (eventually) bio load.
RO Regal 200EXT 8” Recirc - to big?
Classic 150EXT 6” Recirc - to small?
