I couldn't get my RO Classis 110-S skimmer to make bubbles in the body yesterday, taking the pump apart and putting it back together made it work. It ran in the sump overnight as expected, I went to adjust the position of the skimmer over about 2 inches and instantly the pump stopped. I tried plugging unplugging it a few times and no luck.

So I take the skimmer back out of the sump, take it apart, put it back together, and I had it to give it power 3 times before the pump started to run again in a bucket of saltwater. I left it run for 30 minutes in the bucket then unplugged it for an hour. Then i plugged it in, pump didn't push water, stood there for 5 minutes and it started by itself.

Any idea's on what's causing this or should I cut my losses and order a new pump?

Mine does act up in this exact way sometimes. Wish I had an answer for you though. Going to follow along to see if anyone else has insight.

Yes - it's an Aquatrance 1000s I believe.

Update: I bought a replacement pump from RO for it, exact replacement, and they changed the design of the pump. Where the bubble plate goes on the old model it is not threaded, on the new model it is, so you can added the bubble chamber and plate. I'm at a loss here with RO...

Notice the top of my pump is not threaded on the inside or outside. The new pumps are threaded on both, so the bubble chambers are not compatible.
