Hello,

I glued the original union that comes with the Varios.
Now, I need to replace the plumbing. I tough I could replace the union with another 1" union but it doesn't screw on the pump.

Anyone know what is the thread size of the return of the pump?
The thread pitch of the pump seems lower then the 1" union.
is it metric?

Thanks

I sent an email to Reef Octopus but never got answered.
I had to order a new output set from coralvue. With shipping, it cost me 75$ 65$ for a single union.
I still wonder what is the size.
the inner dia of the union is 30.5mm/1.2inch
I still don't know if it's metric or imperial.

I assume that is overnight shipping? If so i may order one as a spare. I did try to look it up for you as I have the same pump. I did not find anything.

On their site you can buy just about any replacement parts, and they are fairly fast. I lost the plug to my collection cup of my skimmer, ordered 1 (and a few extra) and had them in less then a week I think

I tried a standard 1inch union and wasn't able to screw it. That's why I ordered one from CoralVue, the only place I found the part.

@DungSl1nger they ship it on April 6th and received it on April 16th.
But I'm Canadian so the delay may be explained.
Just to be clear, the 65$ was USD

Incase anyone has the same question (I did today) the threads on the Varios are metric. You need a metric to standard union adaptor in order to connect this to standard US PVC sizes. The varios 2 is what I am using and the threads are really similar to 1" MPT but they aren't the same. They are 32 mm which has a close diameter but the threads are totally different. If you try to put a 1" FPT fitting on here, you'll get a few threads on and it will totally bind up. Coralvue sells the union but as stated above, shipping is very pricy. I ordered two of them, and shipping comes out to be more expensive. I looked other places and the fitting seemed to be more expensive. Hope this helps someone down the road.
