Absolutely gorgeous tank. You have a mound of fabulosity!Just for you to see my humble tank and explain the routines I follow. Sadly in Spain we haven't got the opportunity to buy WD nor jawbreaker colonies...So don't expect to see hyper awesome colours.
It is an 80x80x55cm 10mm tank (85gallon aprox)
Illumination: 2 radeon g4 30wpro
Skimmer: Vertex Omega 180
Flow: 2 tunze 6095 + Vectra M1
Dosers with complete Fauna Marin Balling
Feeding: Fish: Mysys + DKI pellets
Corals: Reef Roids + Polyp Booster + EasyBooster
Animals: Japonicus, black ocelaris, kaudermi , Iridis , Marginatus , Hexataenia , Bipartitus, Aurora goby, 2 nocturna, pistol shrimp, 3 wundermani shrimp
Corals: Mixed reef mainly dominated SPS tank
The tank has been running 5 years now, but only the last two years it's been looked after properly.
Try to mantain low detectable levels of nitrate (almost imposible to raise it m0re than 1) and phosphates (0'01/0'1)
Suffered 8 months of STN and had lots of losses. Can't confirm it was due to low feeding, but almost sure it was the cause. Still have some colonies affected but almost none is in risk.
General View at January:
Some macros:
Evolution up to July:
Promise more progess updates.
Have you ever tested par? Very curious how much you have around your lps.
@Da8 May I ask how you fixed your STN problem? My nutrients bottomed out and I’ve been having trouble and losing coral. It’s starting to get back on track now, but still would like to hear how you solved your problem.
Very beautiful corals. How long have you been nurturing these guys? Nice job.Hello. Haven't been able to test par. And I would love it.
My lps take loads fo light. And there seems to get no problems for it.
But I'm sure they would get better without less light. But my sps rule so I'm almost unable to keep acans.
I guess that each stn is different.
Mine I'm sure ( but don't know fore sure) that was an N and P lack, but I ve experienced many more due to high iodine, rust, lack of flow,etc... Etc.. Etc..
So to answer your question.
I would try to fix as many weak points of your system.
Flow is much more important than many people consider. Everybody thinks they have a lot and almost none have when they come to sps.
Nutrient balance.
As in when it comes to kh and Ca we all pay special attention to stability, we should do the same with feeding so to keep balanced and consistent N and P levels.
That's been the best for me.
But, still having some losses. But always animals that were not fully accustomed to the tank.
Thank you very much.Very beautiful corals. How long have you been nurturing these guys? Nice job.
I guess I’m not very well versed on the acronyms and Aquarist lingo. It was like when son went into the Marine Corps,Thank you very much.
Been using easy booster and evo many years ago.
New setup is just one year old, but it comes from a very mature six year old tank.

I didn’t understand a lot of what he was talking about. ‘evo’ & ‘easy booster’?
Yes... My oldest colony.Looking great Da! Really like that large RP in the beginning ;Drool
I'm sure it will! Jealous to say the leastYes... My oldest colony.
From a scratch in not two years came massive, but an stn forced me to frag it.
Still huge animal.
Soon will be a great colony again.
Corals look great! Love the green stylo. What is the orange bottlebrush that looks like an echinata?

@drawman, I think you're looking at the acropora carduus/fenneri type, similar to the red dragon acro. except this one appears to have the yellow polyps, similar to the variants common known as Little red ferrari or fire dragon. Thanks for your comment!!
Not really sure of which one you are asking.
Guess you are talking about a mini frag of millepora. It's been damaged by many mistakes I made on this months but the animal is ready to settle and start growing I guess
Absolutely was it's a beautiful coral!@drawman, I think you're looking at the acropora carduus/fenneri type, similar to the red dragon acro. except this one appears to have the yellow polyps, similar to the variants common known as Little red ferrari or fire dragon.
