First of all thank you for all the support and advices I've been getting for my REEF PI configuration, the light controlling, the temperature probes and the pH are working good. Nevertheless, now I have a question regarding the dosing pump configuration, in the REEF PI guide there is the configuration of the perma proto board for two dosing pumps but I need just to configure one. So I was wondering if the configuration we need is just the right part of the photo I'm sending you. With these I mean if we can avoid the white coloured part for using just one pump. This is also because in the white coloured part we are using it for the temperature probes and SDA and SCL for the lights and pH. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best wishes,
Roberto

Ha! That's so far over my head it isn't even funny. I even sold my Apex Neptune!

While I do this for a living I don't do it in my Hobbies. There are so much more to spend time on with a Reef tank that fiddling with building a Pc control. :)

I just would like to know which part of the configuration I can avoid to make the circuit just for one pump. The guide says that the first pump is controlled for direction with the pins #5 and #22 for the first pump that is #18 PWM, and the other pump is controlled the direction with the pins #20 and #27 and controlled by the pin #19 for PWM. The thing is that Im not really sure how to connect it correctly to the pins in the L293D IC. Thanks for your help!

Or can I decide whether to use the direction pins however I want? I mean using the pins #5 and # 20 to use the pin #19 ?

You can use whichever pins you want for direction pins, but it would probably be easier to use the same as the guide if you are asking for help. I haven't built this circuit, but based on your questions, it sounds like you don't need the connections to gpio 20, 27, 19.
