I built my 8 outlet power supply. I found this plug in my garage. It's a gfci plug. I was wonder if I changed the wire. If it would work. Any help will be welcomed.

It could but GFCI can go bad fairly quickly and that looks old. If you are going the GFCI route I would start fresh. Also not an electrician and just a hobbyist like yourself.

If you don't want to mess with an outlet swap, a new plug-in GFCI is cheap:

GFCIs do age, and the thresholds have changed over the years. I'd just buy the quick adapter and not think about it again
