Oooooh, you'll have to let me know how you like it. It's on the short list for my new 66 gallon. Saw one in person at my LFS last weekend. Much more compact than I expected! I will probably stick with AI since I've got a schedule that's been working really well for me, but that AP700 is a slick lookin' light.

I am looking to have the new gadget up by this weekend :D. Unit should arrived by Fri. Will keep you posted.

Wow. This is going to be epic!

I definitely like the look over the 360WE. Just the unit installed a few hours and took these quick shots below.

I got the unit + the AP700 Major Diffusion Optical Kit going a few hours ago and took a few quick shots below. Unit sits 7.5" above the water surface. The dimension of AP700 fits well when center with the tank.

So far I am liking the look. Much more polished than if I had two A360WE installed. I like the floating look. Also spaceship like feel. Lighting now covers the whole tank without a hint of shadowing. I have to watch the intensity on this thing. Looking to get PAR ratings tomorrow so I can program the unit accordingly.

Now that's some serious equipment for a nano tank, great job man..

it's future proofing...:D

When I say future proofing this is what I am referring to...my 210RR itching for water for the past 10+ yrs o_O. It's still brand new..I got it before my youngest girl was born and she's close to 10 now :(

NICE! So jealouse of all the gear. That AP700 looks great. Very clean look.

Love all your RC stuff, btw. I'm into cars and helicopters in case you can't tell from the screen name.

July 27, 2018 - ONE YEAR LATER

So it has been a year since last the update due. There are good updates and not so good one.

Let's start with the not so good:
  • A number of the corals have either wasted away or eaten away by nudibranch (carry over from other tank unfornately). Those surviving monti are growing back.
  • Lost one of my frostbit clown a few weeks back.

Now the good news:
  • Revived motivation to bring the little reef back into life. Had started a few weeks back after my frostbit clown passed away.

  • Theme: Predominately Ultra Blastomussa & Rock Flower Anemone
  • Rational: easier maintenance and yet still offer vibrant color I like. seems to work better with my schedule.

Here are the latest pics. I have 2 shipments of blasto and rock flower anemone coming in this morning to help restock the tank.

I thought I share my latest progress on the tank. Had not realized it was July since I last updated. Time sure flies.

Overall:
The tank is doing relatively well considering. Tank inhabitants are composed of

Corals: Flower anemones, Blastomussas, Acans and other LPS and a few acro.
Fish: mocha storm clownfish, black storm clownfish, possum wrasse
Inverts: cleaner shrimp, 2 emerald crabs, snails (cerith and trochus mostly)

Problem areas: hair algae and bubble algae. These have gotten much better now that purple coralline algae is starting to grow on the rocks. I still have to pull out hair algae with water changes to keep under control until I figure that out.

In the last post I mentioned the tank had two problem areas: bryopsis and bubble algae. I was on another thread earlier talking about algae and had shared my experiences on the Fusion 20 with two products called Vibrant and Reef Flux - link

As of now the tank is almost completely clear of bryopsis. Bubble algae has dropped dramatically also. So much so that the tank rocks look almost pristine. Treatment of Reef Flux is not yet finish as has only been over 1 week and still have this week to finish and is going well.

I took a few eye candy shots earlier. You may noticed some slight differences from these pics versus the previous. In person it's clearly visible. These shots were taken with my phone...it's darker what it is in person and I have not yet figured out why without touching up the pic so I leave them as is. I think it's mostly because of camera light sensor..anyway...here it is.

Awesome tank!

Thank you!

As of 12/24, I did a large water change to remove the dosing and everything is looking great. I plan to do an update soon as time permit.

So I have my first 2019 coral delivery today which recently arrived from Tidal Garden. This is my first order from them. Nothing extremely special other than 4 different pavona, 1 cyphastrea, 1 spongodes. The reason I got these was to fill out specific locations in the tank that can handle low light/moderate flow and med light/strong flow. These also varied the corals I already have.

I am slowly acclimating them to the water temperature now and will look to place them in later today.

A couple of changes happened over the weekend.

Update after using Reef Flux + Vibrant:
I have been happy with the results. On 12/24 I resumed my water change routine and basically ended my treatment. It has almost completely eliminated the annoying bryopsis issues I was fighting for 6 months. Bubble algae has also been eliminated.

Added Reeflink Device:
I have been pondering on this device for sometime and decided to try it out. The device allow more control-ability of the vortech pumps. I am happy with it so far. Here's the program I have running on it across the two MP10wqd pumps on this tank.

New Corals:
I settled on final placement of a few new corals that arrived Friday. They seem to be settling in nicely. Two of the pavona corals (green pavona and purple pavona) have extending polyps that move with the water movements when extended which is nice to see:
  • Golden leptoseris
  • Party crasher cyphastrea
  • Spongodes
  • Green, purple, orange, and blue pavona

here's a pic of the spongodes and green pavona coral in the center i missed yesterday. I am hoping both will completely encrust the ledge it's on in time. There's also a small piece of a green montipora that has been growing well. I look forward to seeing how the battle between three for space will come out at the end.
