Reef related Christmas gifts

It's a few days before Christmas, and if anyone here is like me, their wish list consists of 99.9% of stuff for their tanks! I thought it would be fun to post what we get for our tanks as gifts, give as gifts (unless the recipient is a member here), or even what we hope to get as gifts:) I'll start off with my beautiful little scoly that my best friend got for my Christmas gift.

And a very generous, amazing, kind hearted reefer blew my mind with these gifts.


I know I have a few more sitting under the tree if the labels on the shipping boxes are any indication;)

My wish list includes a new frag rack, skimmer, acclimation box, a new RODI, and other various random reef related things.

So let's see those Christmas gifts or hear those Christmas wishes!

Don't worry, she will learn;) In a year or two she wont even bat an eye when you are asking for an algae scrubber, new wavemaker, etc. I was a reefer before we met, so he knew what he was getting in to....sort of lol. I like to text him helpful links. It's much easier then trying to explain what you are hoping for to a non reefer, although elfster was a big help for him this year:D Here's hoping your Christmas wish comes true!

I have a hard time believing you have anything but coal coming from Santa:p maybe you should send Mrs. First Lady some helpful texts lol. You are one of the lucky ones, your SO actually understands reef talk!

I have 1 of those gloves, the left one and I am right handed :-); Why only one, that how I got it/them from a reef buddy! He does not know where the right side is either!

Maybe you should put a new set of gloves on your wish list, or see if someone only has a right glove and is left handed that will trade lol.

One single imaginary Acan polyp for you. I'm in the same boat - all I want is reef related stuff but probably won't be getting any. Then again I just buy what I want anyway and that might be a deterrent for my loved ones.

Just wear it inside out = right handed glove (sort of) :p:D

I tend to get a lot of reef/fish store gift cards...everybody knows I am too picky when it comes to equipment and livestock to even bother trying to buy something on their own :)

My fiancée also had no idea what to get me for xmas, so I came up with a list with the names of Coral stores/LFS, with their email address/phone numbers (ie: Battle corals, AquaSD, WWC, Top shelf). I told her to tell ask them what a "stick head" would love to have, well the word she heard was a little different (so she laughed and laughed).

I gave people the places I like to shop at for my tanks. Both online and local stores. So far, got nothing reef related, lol. No one understands this hobby

They might sell her some aiptasia or bubble algae if they hear your name, tell her to drop my name so they sell her something cool:p lol I kid,I kid. I wish I had the relationship with the LFS employees like you do, I am too busy drooling half the time to do any talking, I just grunt and point until they put what I want in a bag:D

 

[Coastie Reefer]

My wife let me order a bunch of frags on Black Friday for my Christmas present. We've gotten to where we exchange a single gift in the $2-250 range, something that we specifically want. Then we stuff stockings for each other for that surprise factor on Christmas morning. That way we get the best of both worlds; something we really want, and a little surprise on Christmas morning. I'm sure this is subject to change next year if we have a kid by then ;)
