Finished making my custom Antique cabinet, ready to cycle my 60A tonight.

Wish me luck!
That’s awesome!

So I had to make an urgent trip to Petco yesterday because I noticed my clown wasn’t eating the dry food. Has anyone noticed that when they go to Petco they always end up waiting in line behind some old lady with a cart full of cat food? So frustrating. I’m was using PE Flakes. The chromis are fine with it but the clown kept spitting it out. I got some gut loaded mysis. It’s doing a little better with it. It’s under close watch right now. I also got some corals in the mail. Waiting to make sure everything looks good before taking pics. Zoas got a little temperamental after a dip trip and dip.
Are you putting fish in QT and dipping corals?

I don’t have a quarantine tank so I’m just putting fish directly in the main tank. I dip my corals. I’ve had just about every pest that exists in the past. It’s usually a matter of time before some weird algae will break out. Hopefully it won’t get to that, but I’ve found that a sea hare and tuxedo urchins are about the best things for weird algae.

Here’s some pics of the new corals. I ended up Just turning on the easy program for the hydra which is pretty heavy in blue light. The corals seem to be responding well so far. I also installed my skimmer and some carbon. Pics are with some night driving glasses (yellow filter). Coral list so far:
Scrambled eggs
Bam Bams
mandarins
TSA vulcan blood
pink zipper
pink diamond
fruit Loops
Bob Marley
EOF
AOI
Rasta

Miss piggy Goni.

I also got some pods which I believe help establish a healthy system.

3 blue legged hermits and 3 scarlet hermits. No snails yet. I don’t have enough algae for them yet.

I finally got the light mounted in back of the tank. I found a pair of steel floating shelves that I just screwed to my countertop and mounted the light on top of it. It seems to be working so far. Next next obstacle is the refugium. UNS did NOT design the tank to have the UNS ATO, skimmer, AND refugium basket to be used simultaneously. The refugium needs to sit on the edge of the tank where the ATO sits, so I need to mount the refugium without using the rim. I think I might try some suction cups to mount the fuge basket.
