How does Reef Roids fair as a good food source for a small squamosa?

Basically anything small in the water column will be good. Try some phyto too. It can help make other foods the clam will filter and eat. Great little clam. These guys do a lot better than maximas small. They grow fast, so keep eye on calcium!

Thanks, any phytoplankton that you’d recommend?

That could be the twin of what I got this week. Told it was 3" but shell is 2.5" and never had a clam under about 4" so same boat. Mine's an ORA.

Do you need to put rocks under it so it attaches or is that only for rock boring clams?

You typically dont need to feed the clam but live phyto wont hurt. I prefer live but either will work. If your clam doesn't fall over I wouldn't worry putting anything underneath it. That's a nice squamosa, congrats!

Thank you, it’s my first. Seams pretty healthy, reacts well to light fully extended except doesn’t look like it’s 100% open. Not sure if that’s just something that’s normal or not.
