I'm getting a stock list together on a new 210g (72×24×28) sps dominant build.
I know it's always a crapshoot as far as angels and being reef safe, but they are just so beautiful! Any thoughts on which of the large angels have the highest likelihood of being reef safe or ones to definitely stay away from?

have you thought of any of the genicanthus angelfish. They're reef safe. I lucked out with my juv. emperor doesn't nip corals sometimes he shows interest but then swims away.

Ive kept large angels (queen) with sps with pretty decent luck but zoas were open season. It chewed them down like crazy.

Most angels will work with sps, it is lps, zoas, and clams that they will usually go after, with chalice corals a seemingly favorite. I have had a variety of customers keep a large angel with sps, emperor, regal, flagfin.

Genicanthus angels will be completely reef safe though.

This is kind of off topic but you should get a cherub angelfish. They are dwarfs but usually dont mess with sps.
