aquarium appears to be back on track, seeing good growth once again! Going to add a couple more frags soon. Determining placement is more difficult, maybe stuff them in and as they grow remove coral that may not be such a favorite? What i have started doing is gluing to rubble rock then onto main structure,i wish i did this from the begining. Allows for change along the way.

Yikes..? Had a dose setting issue. All happened after i did an Apex reset when i noticed that when we had a short power outage and it was not online. All be aware of the "catch up" setting on the Versa doser.

Heard a noise like a pump running while imwas doing maintenace. (Just after the reset) looked up and seen the doser pump was running wild and filling Kalk stirrer with RO which then dumps Kalc water into sump. Ran to get phone to pause.

Immediately started to get some of that water out( nice to have salt water on hand) when it was all said and done i had ph swing and .5 Alk increase. Ovèrall not bad. My Apex alarm did go off at PH 8.6

But it brought to my attention that i only had the alarm set, so i went back in and set the doser switch to also turn off when Ph levels are elevated.

Parameters are back in check... maybe even provided another growth spurt.

Will post new photos @ end of month.

My favorite coral the (slow growing )Oregon tort, has had some growth!

It a bit scary knowing the aquarium can be wiped out in minutes from a mishap.

Was on short vacation for 4 days…
Took a trip to the upper peninsula with the new vehicle!

Tank automation was good for the 4 days

This batch of 30 gallons salt water has about 25% reef crystals salt in the mix as i slowly switch over. The auto water change will change out about 1 gallon per day.

This is the coral i received as a "Leng Sy" cap.
Fellow I picked up from had it in top of tank and it was mostly white. Still had polyps on it so I just placed in tank in hope it will recover.

about 3/4 weeks now. It is slowly regaining some of its green color. Hopefully it will be fine.

Anemone is really opening up.
Seems like it is double the size since I received it. Not sure I am happy about that, this is a small aquarium. It is difficult to tell how big he really is…

If someone is looking for a fast growing acro…I would suggest the “lemon lime time”

Lately it seems to be taking off. It is very bright. Going back and looking at growth photos the last couple month or so is crazy… Top right

Here is a recent pic of the maze brain. You can see what size it was from the picture in "May"

Taped an orange filter on web cam, it has improved the video as the spectrum changes blue while the lights are dimming to go off for the night…

I moved the bubblegum digitata lower in the aquarium a few weeks ago. It really likes the new spot. It looks much better now, growing, polyps extended and now has the nice yellow colors that make it so nice.

The live stream is a bit hazy, I have avoided cleaning the glass. There are about a hundred baby snails (eggs). I am curious to see if I let them be if they will grow in size.

Anemone likes the spot and is growing, traded in hope that the clown fish use it as a host. It’s large enough for both of them… Go figure the fish don’t wander very far.

Heck they could probably be happy in a 6” tank. All they have to do is turn the corner and could find a nice home…

Going to pick up a few frags from local reefer this weekend. Not really into names ,discovered what was sold to me as strawberry shortcake is actually a red planet.(top right previous post) new frags will be pink lemonade, smurf and jello shot.
if room becomes an issue i can snip something that might not be as pleasing to the eye if things continue to go well

March 31 Starfire glass scratches thread

Added comments
It had a fairly large scratch on front. With water not very noticeable but it bothered me.

So I went through a learning curve and figured out how to polish glass...

Not bad... for first time

How deep was this scratch?

You could feel with fingernail... Deep enough for me to not want to see it... The aquarium was fairly expense... I thought I would rather give it a try rather than look for another. It's a bit of an effort but it can be done.
