Reef sump

Bought a new 120 gallon. Live rock/ live sand are doing great but I’m new to the sump/overflow system. The system I obtained was great and running good but the overflow is suctioning a lot louder than normal. Water level is spot on but I can not figure out why the suction is loud. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! New to “reef” projects so let it fly

How many drains are on the system? Did you have gate valves on the system?

You need to adjust the gate valves to reduce the drainage rate.

Pictures will really help us to help you. Even a short video showing the drainage now will help us.
