Paul, is it the same tank too? Meaning, you haven't had to replace the tank.
No. I had to replace the glass 3 times. I moved twice and put everything in a bigger tank and after 40 years in the same place, I got a new one due to scratches.

To move it, I put everything in large vats and just transferred it.

Hi Paul, I’ve been an admirer and follower of your reef keeping philosophy. Bought your Avant Garde book and learned a lot from that as well!

Question about your substrate: can you expand on what “other” means? Is it because of the reverse under gravel filter?

Other means dolomite. I doubt anyone on here has ever heard of it but that was the only salt water gravel available at that time. And yes. I use a reverse undergravel filter and almost no one else does. But don't tell anyone that's the secret. 😬

No, there were no corals sold then. Corals came about 10 years later.
