Hey folks I've recently bought a used systems. I have had a reef setup in the past but never played with these new LED's. My questions I have a 75gal tank which im running two 48" ReefBrite standard tech model. which has 24 diodes pushing 1.5 watt as piece. for a total of 37 watts X2 (running two strips) will this be enought to grow corals? to what degree, could I grow SPS or should stray away from the high light demanding corals and stick to the softies.

What lights are on the reefbrites? They make an all white version, all blue version and then a 50/50 version. The main problem is going to be light spread since these are in 1 long strip. We can make a better recommendation once we know what versions you have. Also, how do you plan to install them. Are you just sitting them on the tank with the legs or will you suspend them?

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?

  • I think it depends mostly on the technology.
