I recently purchased two reefdose 4’s and setup a profile, tank info, setup each doser, calibrated 8 heads with reef moonshine and the moment I close the app, the devices are gone.

When trying to setup again, one of two dosers recognizes the settings and will ask if I want to restore (which I do). The moment I close the app, there’s no reefdose on the app.

What am I doing wrong?

Screenshots have time stamps to see I have the setup and calibration, then at 00:16 it’s gone after closing and opening app.

Interesting. I would make sure your phone app is up to date. If it is I would powercycle the doser. If that doesn't work go into device manager and do a hard reset on your doser.

Maybe leave the app open and see if it runs the schedule properly. If it does, then close it and reopen.

I leave mine open and haven't updated it in years. I did an update several years ago and it screwed everything up. I had to set up all the heads again. Since then, it has worked fine and I refuse to do anymore updates.

I had a brand new Reefdose 2 and despite trying everything I could never get the app to work. The app is known to have many problems. Eventually I bought a Simplicity doser.

Deleting the app and login in again seemed to save the devices. One kept all calibration but the other will need to be recalibrated.

At least it works now!!
Thanks all

I have never had an issue with the app. But I know some people have removed the app and reinstalled it and everything worked.

That was going to be my next suggestion. Delete the app. For some reason I think you get pushed an outdated version of the app occassionally. Doing that has fixed people's issues now atleast 3 times that I know of.

Idk. My initial post has a shot of the updated version. Weird, I swear I thought it was my Google mesh that’s giving was giving me issues since I had problems with kamoers as well.

None the less, everything seems great!
I’ll find out next week if my tank is still alive as I leave this Tuesday.

I deleted and reloaded the app and still had issues. I shouldn’t have to pay a lot of good money just to fickle around with a poorly designed app on a piece of equipment that solely relies on WiFi and app function. No more Red Sea products for me honestly. Their tanks fall apart and their app sucks.

Although I’ve only had my simplicity doser for a couple of days I found it very easy to program manually and it’s been working great so far. I don’t need WiFi. Sometimes I just want a simple piece of equipment that just works. Less is more sometimes.

The Red Sea doser and app have potential, but the current state of the app makes the product nearly unusable. The app frequently “forgets” the doser and even the aquarium setup, forcing you to reconfigure everything from scratch each time you want to change a setting. This makes remote management impossible and extremely frustrating.

Until Red Sea resolves this issue, I strongly advise against buying this doser. The constant setup process is not just annoying—it defeats the purpose of having a smart dosing system.

So far, no complaints.
Had an issue with a pump head and after a few emails back n forth w/Red Sea, they replaced the head and it’s been flawless.
No complaints on any of the 8 heads thus far.

It is hit and miss for people. Depending on what router you have. You literally have to redo everything everytime you need to change the dose
