My return pump has a 1" and a 3/4" barbed hose adapter. Unfortunately, the Red Sea Reefer 170 (and I believe most of the Reefer series) uses the 5/8" size.

I've looked all over the internet, every hardware store within 30 miles of me (home depot, lowes, ace, osh), and can't find any reducer from either 1" or 3/4" down to a 5/8" barbed insert.

Why is this so hard to find? What have you guys done?

Hey, just curious to what you ended up doing with this. I’m starting my reefer 250 build now.

I just went to a local LFS, and when I asked about an adapter they knew I was setting up a reefer and handed me the adapter.
