In my local area, there is a guy who is selling a RKE for a good price. I also debating whether or not I should get that or a Neptune Apex Jr. (used from someone I know). Debating...

  • Which one is better overall?
  • Which one provide future upgradeability?
  • Which one have an easier or more user-friendly control or program?
I want to know from your experience of these 2 devices.

I know on upgrades that apex hands down has more options and it seems better put together in terms of different modules and probes. I know someone who has the reef keeper and has no problems your just limited with modules. They don't have as many as apex. However what made me choose the standard apex over the jr was the jr can only handle up to 8 modules I believe where the standard can hold hundreds. So there's something to think about. The display counts as one of the modules. So if you can save up for the Neptunes apex standard just so you have a lot of room to grow. I'll point out that there are tons of videos on how to set up an apex so you don't really need to do anything but watch the videos. It's fairly simple and extremely customizable. Apex recently remodeled their app and made it so much better. So the better overall one will probably Neptunes apex.

Yeah. It comes with the pH probe and temp probe and an eb8 electrical outlet bar where the apex Jr. only comes with 4. The gold just comes with salinity probe and module as well as the ph probe and temp.
