Reefkeepers Remote Broke

I have a Reefkeeper Photon V2 (not the plus) and the charger port is pushed up inside of the remote. I have no idea how this happened.
Is this remote toast, or is it possible to fix it? I can not seem to find a replacement online. I have a friend who has a V2+ remote, that I can get but it looks like this remote would require an upgrade chip on the light before it would work.

I'm hoping someone can advise me!
