Reefmat 1200 in a Cade sump?

I am not familiar with the setup or use of the fleece rollers....is anybody using the Reefmat in a Cade sump...specifically the 1800 S2?

I used the 'refugium' spot to mount it, but I've been meaning to cut the baffle out and move it over to the left and then reinsert the baffle to make the refugium section a little smaller and eventually get it up and running.

I absolutely love the unit so far. Have had it for about 3 or 4 months now and nearing the end of my 2nd roll.
Changing the roll was so much easier than with the Clarisea I had previously. I've even been using the little media tray in it recently for some rowaphos/carbon.
The app is simple enough to use and informative and you can set it up to notify you when you're getting low, I set mine to ping me when there's approx 2 weeks left so that I have time to order a new one (though I usually keep a spare on hand).

I had a lot of issues with my SK-5000 Clarisea that I bought just so it would fit in that first sock section in the sump so I didn't have to modify anything but the Reefmat hasn't skipped a beat.

Personally I love rollers because I'm a little lazy and taking out filter socks when they build up is not fun and neither is having to wash them etc. I've had 2 rollers on this tank, and had a little drop in roller on my first tank and I haven't looked back on the roller game.

Thanks for the replay! I did end up purchasing and installing yesterday actually. I removed the existing sock baffle as well as the little glass box around the return pipes. That gave me enough room to hang the Reefmat on the left side of the sump and still keep the plastic baffle in place. I had to cut the main return pipe but so far, it was definitely worth it. What mat advance distance did you end up using? I read a lot about people avoiding the smaller distances (to avoid burning up the motor and to keep dirty filter in the water for longer periods of time) but it makes more sense to me to advance in smaller increments to increase roll usage.

Awesome! That's exactly where I want to put mine and to also remove that box around the emergency overflow (I swear it's just keeping water trapped for extended periods of time and probably not healthy when it does get released into the water - seems like a bit of a design flaw unless it's being overflowed constantly to cycle it.

I'd already removed the sock inserts for the Clarisea roller along with the downpipe being cut back to accommodate the connecting hose. I think I had to add an adapter but that was about it.

I found the first few days it was working a bit but then settled down. I've set mine to 1.5-2cm advance length.
Currently it's averaging about 50cm a day but that's because the past couple of weeks it's been using more as I've been dumping heaps of food in and trying to get some algae out as well, so a bit of crap floating around.
Usually sits around the 30cm range prior to that.

Removing that box around the pipes actually quieted down the whole sump. The water no longer has to fill and spill over the top.

My ReefMat actually came with an adapter so I didn't have to buy anything extra fortunately.

I have my advance length set to the same as yours so I will just leave it there.

Do you get bubbles that come from the pipe near the bottom (both on the inlet side and the dead side)? I was getting them pretty much every 20 seconds but it has quieted down. Red Sea says to keep the inlet underwater but with the height of the CADE sump mine is above (unless I wanted to sit the unit in the sump which I didn't really want to do). Seems to be a common issue based on my internet searching.

That's good. I don't think I've really noticed much noise coming from there.
Was getting a bit of noise in my down pipe recently, but that's because I hadn't tuned the return pump and gate valve properly but seem to have sorted that out now.

I don't think I've noticed any bubbles but I'm pretty sure mine is below the water level so maybe that stopped it a little. Maybe try and just put it on the stand it comes with if it persists and just let it stand in the sump there to lower it down perhaps ?
