Just wanted to report on my results after following the reefmat hack thread. This was for my 1200. I purchased 5 rolls of filter material from Precision Converting at a cost of $10 each.
https://preconfilter.com/I downloaded the adapters from thingaverse and printed a set with my 3D printer.

I ran the first roll of material and it lasted about just as long as an original ReefMat roll and did just as good as a job. I did not want to get too excited until I tried the second roll. Over half way done with the second roll and the results look to be the same. It looks like I am saving about $23 per roll with this hack shared by other members. I must say that I am very happy with the results. Steve from Precision Converting was very responsive and very helpful. Shipping was very fast. If you are looking to save a few dollars this method would be highly recommended.

Mine would roll too long and would be reported as “jammed”. I reached out to the guy I bought the adapter from to tell him I think it’s not tight enough and he recommended wrapping tape around to make it fit snug. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I continued to manually roll until finally on my 4th roll… success! So was the problem the adapter, the rolls, or the user? I hope this continues to work as it is a huge cost savings.

This is great- can you give more details on exact roll/specs you purchased?

Sorry to resurrect this but what micron did you use?

So roll size 6.7" x 50 feet long? What micron thanks again!

i am using the 30 rating and am having better results than the redsea rolls my water is more polished and im actually using less than i was with the red sea rolls you can visually see it on the rolls its more of a uniform collection where the redsea rolls were splotchy hear and there, i have had 0 issues with the precon and could not see myself ever going back to the redsea rolls
