So I'm setting my tank back up after a brutal crash. I'm going to tell the story for who's intrested, or you can skip to the bottem to help with my questions ha.

It's a interesting story what happened ha. We moved to a new house and did the crazy process of moving my 160 gallon full reef with tons of fish and coral. The sump broke in the move but I was debating doing a remote sump anyways so wasn't a big deal. We bought our inlaws house so we moved the tank a week before so it wouldn't be a huge rush. We spent the day moving everything but something went wrong and the tank died over night. I'm assuming either a anemone got caught in a power head or chemical warfare with all the coral, either way doesn't matter much at this point. So since we were still in move mode my father in law did a couple fresh water flushes cuz the house stunk so bad till we could properly clean the tank up. Now a week goes by and we have time to clean the tank. All thoughout the day we all felt like crap, but during the night everyone got much worse, animals included. With our 6 month old son and know about palytoxin posion I didn't risk anything so off the the Er we went at 2am. We were in the hospital for 14hr or so and confirmed to all have had palytoxin posioning! So the hospital told us to throw away everything! With 160 gallon tank I asked how they propose we do this with all of us feeling like death and they just said figure it out ha. I ended up bleaching the tank, doing about 3 flushes with bleach and then finished off with a vingear bath. It's been sitting with fresh water since Feb waiting for me to tackle the tank again.

Now that I have time again I'm refiring the tank. The old setup I had was a Durso in each corner overflow with a sump and refuge under the tank. I used a 55gallon for a sump and 20 gallon for my fuge. I had a heck of a time drilling out the 20 gallon fuge as the glass kept cracking, and I was able to find a 55 for cheap so I made my own sump.

Now I don't have a ton of extra time with the baby and I can't find any cheap tanks around to make my own sump, so I'm thinking of buying the eshopps r-300 sump to get me going. I won't be doing the remote sump at this time because I don't have room in the garage to make my fish room till I get my shed built and all my inlaws stuff out of it ha.

Here's my design for the new setup, using a dual Herbie setup in each corner overflow and running the return line over the back of the tank. I will proably run a t off the return pump to make water changes easy. I will add union's on most piping to make everything easy to take apart. I read that the eshopps sumps come with flex able hose that attaches to pvc for the drains, will that be sufficient to use or should I still hard plumb it? This tank will be in my living room and I want it quite as possible (why I'm going away from the Herbie)

Also my next question is what to do with my rock from the old Tank. I had it sitting in salt water in the garage as I was planning on "cooking" it, but after the posioning it just sat there till last weekend when I dumped out the water and left the garage cans with them outside. I read maybe dipping them in multric acid mixture then starting again may be a good option? Either way looking for suggestion there on the safest way to reintroduce all my rock (150ish pounds I'd say)

Long winded post but I thanks anyone who takes the time to read it and offer suggestions

Wow that's pretty crazy! Glad everyone is ok and ill be following along
Yeah I would recommend it ha, was very sad as the reef was going good for about 4 years with some nice coral and a decent amount of fish. We even braced the floor for the tank

Well after looking into things I realized my skimmer won't fit into any of those so guess I'm building a sump. I'm thinking a 75 gallon doing a skimmer/fuge/return
