I got my refractometer from BRS the other day and noticed that it's blue line doesn't seem straight across. For example, I have it perfectly set at 35 ppm on the right side, but my salinity on the left reads like 1.027 or 26. It seems to me like the reading (if set at 35 ppm) should be straight across to 1.025? Is this how the refractometer should be or should I send it back? It doesn't seem like much but if my salinity is set at 1.023/24 which I'm ok with, the ppm reads way down to like 31 which I'm not ok with and would like to raise.

I want the salinity at 1.024 because that's what Red Sea suggests in its instructions during the reef cycle of their reef mature kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
