The refugium on my 180 reef (BTA's and leathers) is full of chaeto but the refugium does not have pods and has lots of detritus on the bottom of the sump. I was thinking of using my wetvac and cleaning out the deitritus in my sump as part of my mass clean up to eradicate my nitrate problem of 150+ nitrates (I fell of the water changing wagon). Ihave been changing 30 gallons of water a day.... After I do this clean up I will order ecopods from algaebarn to seed my refugium again. It is odd to me that my sump is not full of pods?

Suggestions and tips on how you keep your sump clean and full of pods. Thoughts on filter socks if trying to have a heavy pod system

thanks!
