I’m fairly new to refugiums. Have had one set up on my Waterbox 130.4 since inception 9 months ago.

Nutrients got very high at one point (was fighting dinos)- phosphate 0.25, nitrate 20-25. Chaeto was growing great.

Now my nutrients are lower- phosphate 0.03-0.1, nitrate 10-15. Chaeto is receding big time.

Wondering if this is normal? Does chaeto growth wax and wane with nutrient levels?

Anything I can do to promote its growth again without affecting chemistry too much in my tank? Things are finally stable.

I’m using the reefbreeders refugium light.

Yes, all algae growth will fluctuate over as will coral growth. Keep in mind reef ecosystems are dynamic and there's a lot more going on in a reef system than just the few tests we can run. Changes should be expected.
