My fuge light is just an old aquarium light that I had. It is starting to go bad and the chaeto went from growing really well to not growing. So I am looking at fuge lights and found this one. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/h80-tuna-sun-flora-refugium-led-light-kessil.html Anyone have any experience?

The fuge is a 20 gallon section of a DIY sump made out of a 55 gallon tank. The surface area of the fuge is 12 x 24 and the fuge is 24 deep. If anyone has any other recommendations that are similarly priced I would like to know. Thank you.

That’s a very low wattage light at only 15watts. I’d definitely be looking at plant spectrums (red with some blue/violet) with about 50watts based on your 24” depth.
I use a light designed for horticulture. They are cheaper than reef gear and designed for the job. Or if you can afford a more powerful Kessil light that would be perfect. The AI fuge light is good too.

I use the Tunze Eco Chic because of its spectrum as well as the fact that it is waterproof (I've seen some applications where it is placed on the bottom of a refugium and beneath chaeto) and can be mounted in two different ways. A little pricy at $80 but it is quality.

I had a kessil on my fuge; not the one you asked about but the A360; it grew the chaeto like no one’s business! It eventually died on me, and I got rid of the tank pending a long move, but will likely be getting another kessil when I get the new tank

I’ve been very happy with this light and it didn’t break the bank. Grows my chaeto like a weed.

This is the one I picked up for my new tank (many seem to have had great experiences with it):

I spend a lot of money on high tech gadgets, but couldn't bring myself to drop hundreds of dollars on a fuge light...

My 20 gallon refugium grows chaeto very well with 2 clamp on Home Depot lights with 5 k color spots mounted a few inches above the water. The spotlights were 2 for $19.99

The Kessil H series LED's are a good option if you want to grow a lot of macro-algae quickly
