Refugium, media.......or sponges?

Anybody else utilize an entire sump compartment for nothing but filter feeding sponges ? It took about 6 months to cover the entire rock and 3 out of 4 walls in the compartment lol.

I know some people run them - I usually see them called cryptic refugiums.
